A Little Monday Tale

My wish has been granted.  We got more snow.  Not a lot, but enough to be a pain in the ass.  And it's cold again.  Really cold.  When I woke up this morning it was 16 degrees out.

It's mid-February and I am officially done with this winter.

I am going to ignore it from henceforth.

I finished my shrug.  Did I already tell you that?  Well, I finally got around to blocking it this morning:

And I am sure I told you about this broken tree:

Last night it fell, and became this:

Which makes it a lot easier for us to deal with.  The issue was the wires...  I don't know if you can see them in the picture, but where the tree fell, if you look up it's directly below the wires.  I assume they parted and let the tree go down because we didn't even have a power hiccough.  Whew.  Dodged that bullet!

Now if ever the snow melts, and the days get a tad warmer, Agmorion can get out there with his chainsaw and make a little firewood.

Right next to the tree that fell is a floundering red maple tree, perhaps this year it will spread its wings and take off.  It's my secret desire that all the oaks should go away and be taken over by red and sugar maples.  I'm off to a very slow start, but we are averaging one tree down a year.

That means in forty years or so I should be out of oaks...
