AWOL

So yeah, I've been gone awhile.  And only Miss T has missed me.  How sad is that?!

We're smack in the middle of a deep freeze here.  High temp today was like 10.  It's nice and warm in here though!  I went out to get the mail, and that was enough for me.  Cold looks good when you're nice and warm, if you're out in it, cold just plain sucks.

I think I told you about reupholstering my little stool.  It started out looking like this:

And $30 later, it looks like this:

Best $30 I ever spent on furniture!

I finished the wall.  It took three days to prep, and one afternoon to finish.  Kind of lopsided, but for this type of painting, prep is key.

Doesn't Red look like she's in jail?

In the end, it looks like this:

I have been receiving some criticism on this project.  Some people just have no vision.  Both Agmorion (who had doubts) and I are happy with the final result.

Over the weekend, we took advantage of the fifty-degree weather and went to the beach to collect stuff for our wind chime project.  I had five more bottles to cut and make into chimes.  I think I am going to wait for Agmorion next time, because I now have one bottle.  Apparently there is a trick to bottle cutting and I don't know it.

Oh well, it's not like we'll never empty another bottle!

On Monday, when it started to get cold, we put up a workbench in the shop.  It's been a many-step process.  Over the summer, we took the bench from this:

To this:

Monday, we put on some legs and a skirt, attached it to the wall, and oiled it.  So now it looks like this:

OK, it doesn't look like that now, it's already full of crap!  But you get the idea.

And today's project...

Yep, that's snow.  Agmorion is melting it to put in his humidifiers.  Why?  Because he can.

The blocks came out great! I admit I was struggling with the vision when it was in the tape phase, but it really came together. As did the stool and the workbench. You guys should have your own HGTV show...Jazzin Up Your Home -- Beach-style! or Decorating Your (sand) Castle with the Beaches. Ok, I won't quit my day job to go into advertising. haha
