New Year's Eve

Well, here we are on the last day of the year.  What a year it's been.  For everyone.

For all our sakes, I do hope the next year is better...

We did end up getting an appreciable amount of snow the other night:

It was windy and a lot of it blew around, ruining my picturesque homestead.  But when I went outside and looked back at the house, I thought, "Now that's what I want to see!"  This is exactly what I see in my mind's eye when I think Cape style house:  (Thank you Carlos and Freddie!)

Gotta have a nice snow-collecting pine tree:

And a lot of trees in the yard and beyond with snow caked on one side:

Good storm.  You may go now and take all that dirty snow with you!

I was bored yesterday and taught myself a new trick - Magic Loop.  It took me most of the night to make this:

And if you ignore the boo-boos, it came out pretty damned cool!  And, the whole time I was working on it, I only had two points to worry about knitting slipping off of (which a couple did, a couple times), which was way better than six-plus points dropping stitches off the ends at every turn!  I daresay I think I like this magic loop, and I might be almost ready for a sock!

Before there was boredom, there was a drill and some screws:

This is the start of my new clock wall.  I think I need a million more clocks to fill in the blanks, but what fun it's going to be to find them!

And finally, Can you spot the Red?

Happy and healthy New Year to all!

Thank you for sharing the snowy pics...I'm happy to live the winter vicariously through you, don't need to experience it for myself. With luck, maybe the white stuff will stay in RI vs VA this year.

PS. Red is very cute hiding among the stuffed critters.
